So I have decided to up my blogging game, if there is such a thing. I just wanted a change, something a little more flexible and such. So this is my little world for now. So feel free to engage it with me. It is new and new is good. New is attractive. I like new stuff. Everyone likes new. New shoes, car, iPod, girlfriend/boyfriends, music (Anberlin's new CD came out today!), and so on. New is good.
Now to bring balance to this whole new talk I just laid out I will be publishing some, maybe all, maybe just what I feel, old blogs from MySpace. But there will be many new ones too. Yippee!
It is a clever season in my life. One with great possibilities and risks. I am excited and apprehensive. Change is good. New is good. New seasons are good. That is why we love Spring and Summer so much. It is something new. There is a hope that drifts in the air. A hope that something will be different. Something will be great. Something will be life changing. We feel this hope. We cherish it. We long for it to become true. It will be.
Many may be "stuck in a moment" (not a crazy U2 fan but they hit that one on the head). You aren't going anywhere. Everything is slow and grueling. Fog is your only companion and silence your only noise. You can't see or hear. It is getting old. You want something new. Who wouldn't? It will come. Trust me. Something new is on the way. It is right around the corner. Have the courage to embrace it.
This whole world kills itself to be new, to stay new. New is good. It is attractive. It is more magnetic than we think. Boredom is a product of the old. I feel like there are a lot of us who are bored. Bored with the way life is right now. Maybe it is not going as planned. Maybe it is just laced with lots of trials and pain. Maybe it is overrated. Maybe it is simply getting old. Living this way squanders purpose. It numbs our potential for something great. There is a Way though. One that is constantly new. Constantly alive. It is the best Way. It is one that I hope we all experience. One we all engage.
So to those about to embark on the seas of mystery and change I salute you. I challenge you to step out. Embrace this new season. To those who are still plowing and sowing in the fields of life I salute you too. You have not given up. You can't. What we learn in the tough, monotonous times is what gets us to the great ones. So plow on.
